I’ve known Kerri since High School and she’s always been such a sweetheart!! It was an honor to photograph her Maternity pictures – always one of my favorite things to shoot! I’ve known Jamie for a long time, so it was so fun to photograph her Maternity Session! She is just glowing in every single picture! I can’t wait to see her little boy Tatum when he finally arrives!! These were taken at a few different areas in City Park! LOVE these pictures!!

It’s such an honor to photograph this couple! It feels like yesterday that I shot their Engagements and Wedding! (back when I was a Wedding Photographer) They are starting their family soon and I couldn’t be happier for them! A little girl is on the way! I know from experience how special this is going to be for them! Congratulations Butch and Steph!!

Lindsey is my fellow bump buddy! We have the same due date and will deliver in the same hospital! It would be crazy if we winded up there at the same time. My goal is to let baby come whenever he/she is ready. So we will see! Neither one of us know what we are having :) It’s been fun having someone to chat with as we go along in our pregnancy. I met Lindsey sometime last year, I was shooting a Wedding and she was singing at the Wedding. It was a pleasure to photograph she and Troy’s Maternity session. They are the cutest, I had a blast with them at the Zoo! Here are some that I loved:

I had an amazing time last week with Josh & Lisa for their Maternity photos! I’ve known Lisa for quite some time now, she is a friend of my cousin and we grew up in the same neighborhood. It’s always so fun to see friends from the past and how their lives are changing and growing! I can’t wait until their little girl gets here so I can photograph her sweet face! Loved the styling in these photos, Lisa had some adorable outfits! We took these in one of my favorite areas of City Park!

Lot’s of couples & baby bump sessions lately, loving it!! I think it is SO important to get these pictures done before your little one arrives, what a special time :) I can’t wait until I’m showing a little more to get some done of myself soon, too! I’m 15 weeks today!

I had a great time with Jeremy & Jenna last week for their session, they were soo sweet! It was truly a pleasure to photograph them. It was a nice morning, the sun was just starting to peek through the clouds. It wasn’t too cold or warm. They are welcoming a little baby boy soon, look how cute the babies shoes are in the last picture – LOVE!

I had a great time last week photographing Patrick and Brooke’s Maternity session. They were so fun-loving and laid back! The weather that morning was a bit foggy but it made for a really pretty background in the photos. It kind of gives off this romantic feel! I am looking forward to photographing their little one’s newborn session this coming March!

I am like a wildflower when it comes to shooting in new locations. My creative juices start to flow when I’m allowed outside of my comfort zone. Thank you Mike & Alicia for having me travel to your beautiful home in Covington, it made for a gorgeous backdrop for these photos! I am in love with every single one, I could post them all! It was so fun seeing you guys again, feels like yesterday we were taking the Engagement session. I am so happy for you two! I know you are both excited for your little Tobi girl to get here :)

I was thrilled when I received an email from Sylvia telling me the good news that she was expecting! I had so much fun photographing her Bridals and Wedding, that I couldn’t wait for this shoot! :) She is so beautiful and is truly glowing in these Maternity photos. So many of my past couples have been coming to me for Maternity and Baby photos, that surely makes me happy. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about how lucky I am to have this job. Spending time with people and capturing special moments in their lives is a wonderful feeling. I can’t wait to photograph their daughter when she arrives!! :)

I loved photographing Matt & Candace’s Maternity session! I can’t wait to shoot their newborn session once the baby gets here… Boy or Girl!? We will see soon enough :) I love meeting new couples and being able to go on this little journey with them. Welcoming a new baby is beyond exciting!!

I was so excited when Heidi contacted me about a Maternity session! Heidi and I used to work out at Guerre’s bootcamp together! She always helped motivate and push me along! When Heidi found out she was pregnant was around the same time that I pulled my back out, so I definitely miss our workout sessions together! I need to get back to working out regularly again!

We took these in City Park right before Mardi Gras. I loved all of the outfits! Such a sweet and fun loving couple and Heidi looks AMAZING! So beautiful, she’s just glowing. I had a great time with Stephen and Heidi and I can’t wait to meet their new little addition :) Here are some that I loved:

I had a great time photographing Amy & Tim last week for their Maternity session! Amy came with lots of cute ideas! They both had such a fun-loving, carefree attitude! We headed to one of my favorite locations in City Park to take these. Overgrown, rustic looking areas are always pretty! Looking forward to photographing their new addition once he/she gets here! It’s a surprise… love when couples do that!

So it’s 4am and I am sitting in my office responding to emails from the weekend and trying to get some work done! I can’t sleep! My Godson Reed is expected to be delivered later today, so I am wide awake. I’m thinking of my cousin Erin and patiently waiting until around 8-9am when I will head to the hospital to take pics ;) I feel like I’m still sleeping and hoping that all the emails I just responded to made sense. Haha! These are crazy hours to be working.

Speaking of babies, I figured today would be a great day to post my friend Melanie’s Maternity photos! She is expecting another baby girl. Her daughter Cameron is going to be an awesome big sister! You may remember me talking about Melanie in a few of my Wedding posts. She was the videographer for my Wedding and did a fabulous job! She also owns a photography business and photographs children, seniors and families across the lake! Melanie is one of those people I feel like I’ve known forever. The very first time I chatted with her, we just clicked. It’s funny because sometimes we will be typing back and forth to each other online and we’ll say the same thing at the same time! Happens alot! Twins. She is a great friend and someone I’ve enjoyed getting to know over the years. We often chat about our photography business’ and are always striving to push ourselves to get better! I love going prop shopping with Mel for our kids shoots! We always say how our props are taking over the house! They really are… its not even funny anymore!

So here is my beautiful friend Melanie, her husband Kevin and their little girl Cameron! These are just a few of my favs :) We took these around this fun little wooded area near their home in Mandeville! Loved it! Oh and the sunlight…. couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous day!

I was so excited when Danny & Ashley contacted me about a Maternity session! It’s funny, I can remember meeting these two several years back at Copeland’s one night when Randy and I were eating, haha! Randy went to school with Ashley & Danny and we have a good bit of mutual friends. We took these last week in City Park. We started out in Storyland which always makes for a cute, colorful atmosphere! Then we headed over to the other part of the park near the bridges and water. The weather looked fine when we started but then about midway through it began to drizzle a little bit. Towards the end, we finished our session because we heard a HUGE POW!!! Lightening had stuck the tree right by us! That was it, we were done! It started pouring raining and we walked back to the car drenched, haha! Thankfully, we were all okay, but I swear driving home I thought my hair was still standing up!

I photographed Lindsey and her adorable family last week in City Park! They were all so cute and I loved their outfits. We went to more of the rustic areas of the park to get that pretty natural setting. It’s been a bit hot lately, but I think we have a cool front coming soon which I am looking forward to! I loved the way these came out, Lindsey is just such beauty! She doesn’t have too much longer to go! :) Loving all these Maternity and newborn shoots lately!

 

Last week I photographed Stephanie and Shane! Stephanie is very close to delivering and she looks great! I am always so happy to photograph somewhere new. Stephanie and Shane live close to me in the River Ridge area so she suggested that we stay around the neighborhood for their session. I loved all the beautiful greenery we stumbled upon between her backyard, her moms backyard and this pretty open area we found. The light was beautiful that day! My favorite part about my job is getting to meet so many different personalities. I really enjoy meeting new people and getting the opportunity to chat while I’m snapping away.

Thank you Steph and Shane for letting me capture such a special time in your lives, I can’t wait to meet the little man when he decides to enter this big ole’ world :)

I can always expect Gia or her Sister, Alicia to do an awesome job when it comes to how they want their portrait sessions to look! You may remember when I photographed Gia’s sister, Alicia’s Engagement photos? Both beautiful girls, the camera loves them! Last week I had the pleasure of photographing this session in City Park. There is this little “honey hole” spot that I found and I am obsessed with it, you can see more of that spot towards the end of the session. I love the overgrown grass, wild flowers and rustic look. We took these in the evening so we were getting great sunlight, too! Jared and John were there to join us, loved their matching outfits. Loved this shoot! My favorite thing is when clients have a “vision” for their shoot, it makes the sessions so much fun :) I’ve been waiting to share these for a while, I couldn’t wait to finish editing them!!

I photographed Adam and Heather’s Maternity Session this past weekend. We headed to City Park for the first half of their shoot and then the French Quarter for the rest. These two were adorable together! I can just look at them and tell how great they are going to be as parents. I know they are anxiously awaiting Baby Latson’s arrival. It was fun walking and talking with them, hearing how they met, how long they had been together, when they knew they were ready for babies, etc! Great people!! We passed an ice cream shop in the Quarter so we thought it would be cute to incorporate a cone in a few pictures. I had a great morning with these guys last Sunday! Here are some of my favs :)

It’s been a wonderful Wednesday. I woke up and gave myself about 30 minutes of “me” time. Even if it’s just making the bed, eating my yogurt with granola or doing some dishes…. it still helps. I’ve been trying to give myself some time in the morning before diving into work. It usually leads to my brain being all over the place, if I don’t. I got alot of editing done this morning, had a nice little visit with my Ma-Maw who stopped by to say hello and then I headed out to my two shoots this afternoon. Which by the way – the sun and weather was gorgeous. I came home and Randy cooked us dinner. It’s been great, I wish I could have days like today more often.

I’ve been waiting to share Tiphanie and Martin’s Maternity Session for a week or so now. She took these and wanted to surprise her Mom! Now Mama has finally seen them, so we’re good to go! What can I say about these two? I’ve been knowing them since the first day we met for the Wedding appointment, then I shot their Engagement session, then the Wedding. Wow- time flies! I have LOVED photographing their journey, what an honor. This is such a fun process for me to capture.

We headed to the Audubon Zoo. We both pulled up- it was PACKED. Buses everywhere. Kids everywhere! It was field trip Friday to say the least. We were hesitant, but winded up giving it a shot! I’m glad we did because we found some beautiful spots once we walked inside. I am so happy to be able to share these photos with ya’ll!

I had a great time with Nicole and Kyle last week shooting their Maternity session! They were one of those couples that I felt like I’ve known forever even though we just met. There is something so beautiful about Maternity sessions, love them! Nicole will be delivering this week. Can’t wait to meet their little bundle of joy! Here are some of my favorites from their session:

I’m noticing that a good bit of first-time Moms are coming to me for Maternity sessions. This then leads to the “Grow With Me” Package I offer which allows me to capture the first year of the baby’s life! I feel so blessed to be a part of the baby changing so much. It’s nice to form a friendship with the moms and I truly look forward to capturing their little one every 3 months. Meet Brittany and Greg! I love the clients who read my blog and tell me they shopped around, yet picked me :) This blog takes a lot of time to keep up with but it’s become a major part of my business. It’s shoot, edit, online gallery, email, blog, mail CD. Each and every time. This blog honestly helps me stay on track and is part of my routine! Thanks Brittany and Greg for having me photograph your Maternity session and I look forward to Baby Tyler’s arrival. Can’t wait to take his newborn photos! I photographed Ashlie & Chandler last Friday evening in City Park, they were so sweet! They will be welcoming their first child next month, its a GIRL! They told me they decorated her room in pink and green polka dots, which is why they wore the colored striped shirts at the end. To match her room :) Maternity always fascinates me, I can only imagine how surreal it is when you bring home your baby after carrying it for 9 months. These pictures will freeze that moment in time for Ashlie & Chandler as they welcome their new baby. I think pregnancy is such a beautiful thing and no matter where or when I see an expectant mom, I always internally let out an ‘awww‘ in my head. Thank you Ashlie & Chandler for allowing me to capture your current love and a whole new love you are about to experience. Ashlie, you are glowing in these pictures!

I photographed Amy and Brad this week at City Park. I’ve been knowing Amy for about as long as I’ve known Randy. Long story short- Amy owns a little makeup store & spa in River Ridge. One of the first times I went on vacation with Randy’s family, they were headed to the beach. I was a little too white for my liking, so I went to see Amy to get a quick airbrush spray tan. Since then I’ve popped in there every now and then when I need something. Just a few weeks ago and I went in to get some lashes put on for Randy and I’s Engagement photos. Anywho- Amy is one of my future mother in laws very good friends. She asked me to photograph Amy and her husband Brad for her baby shower gift. What an amazing gift right?! I’ve had lots of people book because one of their relatives or close friends wanted them to have photos taken during a special time in their life so they purchased them a session. I just think its an incredible gift :)

So here is Amy and Brad….. They are expecting their first baby in July :)

This session was a tons of fun, if anyone reading this knows Guerre personally, then you know he likes to TALK! Alot! Holly said she can’t send Guerre to the grocery anymore because he sees too many people when he goes and comes back an hour later! He told me he joined some random gym where he won’t run into anyone, just so he can get a workout in and not talk!! He has been a long time family friend and I was so excited to take these Maternity pics of he and Holly.

Guerre also puts on the Bayou Bootcamp for the River Ridge crew that I am always talking about. He is helping get me in shape for my Wedding. Its been nice to see he and Holly throughout the week and to be a part of her pregnancy adventure over the past few months. Holly is sweet as pie and always has a big smile on her face! She’s just beautiful and both of their personalities came out in these pictures.

Neither one of them wanted to find out what they were having. It was a hot topic at Bootcamp which seemed to make it even more suspenseful.

Well baby decided to come early, just about 3 weeks early. Received a couple of phone calls throughout the process of Holly being in the hospital – so happy to get a call from them and to be a part of their excitement! Baby Girl – Faith Ann Fabacher was born yesterday! 6lbs. 2 oz.  Guerre’s even been doing his bootcamp stretches on a hot pink mat – he’s was just preparing for her, that’s all!!! Funny how they both seemed to know and sensed a baby girl – due date was March 20th. (As you will see in one of the below photos) She decided to enter the world on March 2nd!  I can’t wait to hear more about their new little addition!

Here’s some of my favorites from their Maternity Session! Happy that Holly & Faith are doing well! :)

I had the pleasure of photographing my cousin Kelly and her baby bump this past week. Madeline will be arriving late summer, just in the time to feel our wonderful 90+ degree heat! Since I’m always cold, this is my favvvorite weather. I would rather be sweating then shivering any day of the week!

Kelly’s little man Ben is in some of the studio shots and I think it added something very special to the pictures. I love the one where he’s unwrapping her belly bow. Ben insisted on seeing himself on the back of my camera after each shot was taken. So I played along and things were going great. Then it turned into…”I wannnttt a suckkkkerrr” “Mommy!! Sucker!” Good thing Aunt Colleen was there because she searched the pantry and made do with the next best thing….MARSHMALLOWS! So needless to say, Ben was fed a mini marshmallow after each cute & cuddly shot we asked him to take! Haha- well all 20 bites of sweet and creamy goodness later, we got our shots!

After a little while in the studio we went outside to my favorite place, the secret garden. I might as well just start calling it this! My Aunt Brenda & Uncle Jerry (Mr. Mother’s Restaurant himself) live right down the street from me. Well they just have the most fabulous garden. My Aunt is always planting flowers and buying new interesting things to add to her garden, which is more like a sanctuary. I swear every time I walk down there I notice something new to photograph in front of. It’s my little outdoor studio and I’m grateful to have it just a stone’s throw away from my house. If your reading this Bren, thanks for all the time you put into your beautiful backyard, its greatly appreciated :)

Anyway- Here are some special ones from the day!

Ali has been my long time friend since we were just a few years old. Some of my best memories growing up revolve around our friendship. Playing at each others houses, the family vacations to the beach, the dance recitals, playing Marco/Polo in her pool almost everyday during the summer, the water balloon fights, the softball teams at Little Farms together, driving home from Dominican on Earhart blaring the radio as loud as can be, attending her wedding, etc, etc, but most of all just remaining friends. Sooo, this Maternity session meant ALOT to me. She will continue to be a close friend and I will continue to value our friendship just as I did when we were younger. Lots of time can go by without talking, but when we run into each other, its as if we didn’t skip a beat.

I remember finding out about Ali being pregnant, in typical Ali fashion this is how it played out. We only live a minute away from each other, so often we would see each other driving on the highway and we would bomp the horn and wave. Well this time was different…..we were stopped at a red light and we just so happen to be right next to each other. Ali rolls down the window and screams “Heyyy Yen (my nickname growing up)!!! Guess what?? Your going to be an AUNT! 2 months so FAR!”…then she cruises along. I was speechless, I was teary eyed, I was so happy for her! How could my friend who I grew up playing “town and teacher” with have a little one on the way?! I knew we were just growing up way too fast. I didn’t let two minutes go by without blowing her phone up and letting her know how excited I was to hear the news!

Then Ali contacted me about a Maternity Session and I have to tell you, I was very excited. I had a great time with Ali, Steve & Ms. Susan (Ali’s Mom). We spent the majority of the time laughing and joking about different poses. I talked to Ali before the shoot and she says okay, Jen… Steve is willing to take some photos with me, but under one condition. I’m like..Yea? She says, as long as you don’t make him take his shirt off! Both of us just laughed because Steve obviously had seen some maternity photos that required the guy to stand behind the wife without a shirt and I guess he envisioned this. Needless to say, Steve came and it was great to have him in some of the photos, shirt on and all!

Thank you Alicat for a wonderful session, Love you & I can’t wait to meet the baby when he/she gets here!

Nicole’s Maternity Session went great, she had lots of cute little things she wanted to include in her photographs that were a reflection of Gabby, her “little girl-to-be”!

Pregnancy being such an incredible thing, there’s just something magical about photographing a big beautiful belly knowing there’s a little life inside just waiting to meet the world.

I always tell people, as your child grows up, these are the photos you’ll cherish just before your bundle of joy enters your life. Thank you Nicole for a wonderful shoot, your were a joy to photograph!
