Toni recently just got married, so I’m now able to share her Bridals! Although I no longer photograph Weddings… I do still LOVE when I get the opportunity to take Engagement and Bridal Sessions! These were done at City Park on a gorgeous afternoon! Toni looked amazing!

What a gorgeous bride!! Couldn’t wait for Joanne’s Wedding to come so I could share her Bridal pictures! We had a great in the French Quarter taking these beautiful shots!!

Emily has been one of my best friends for over 10 years now! She is one of a kind and is always making us girls laugh. Such a beauty, too! I had so much fun with her taking these! She married in the Bahamas last month and I was so sad I couldn’t be at her Wedding. Flying to another country in the third trimester isn’t such a safe idea! I am so thankful I was at least about to capture her in her beautiful Wedding dress before she left for the trip! Here are some that I LOVED on my gorgeous friend EMMA~!!

What a pleasure to photograph my sweet friend Ashley who I have known for years and years! We had such a blast at her Wedding last month, I was so touched when she asked me to take her Bridals. We took these on a beautiful afternoon in City Park! Her dress was stunning. I couldn’t wait to share these. Thanks Ash for always being an amazing friend! Keep on making those yummy desserts. Ashley is Queen of Desserts whenever all of our friends get together to cook or BBQ! Congratulations again Trey and Ashley!

You may remember Noelle & Stevie’s Engagement Session that I photographed? I was in their Wedding last month and it was tons of fun! Noelle asked me to do a Bridal Session for her as well. I can finally post these now that her Wedding is behind us. It was a pretty day in the Quarter, here are some favorites from her session! Loved the way these came out, totally show her fun and goofy personality!

I’ve been looking forward to sharing Christina’s Bridals with you all for quite some time. I am working on her Wedding right now – I’ll have it up this week!! Christina is so sweet and just beautiful! I enjoyed taking these in City Park several weeks back. When we first headed outside to begin her session, the clouds started shifting and the thunder began to rumble! Thankfully, we made it through just in time. I literally walked back to my car and it started pouring! Ahh! I love the way her Bridals came out, here are some of my favs:

I photographed Ashlie’s Bridals last month and I couldn’t wait to share them! She is stunning! Ashlie is a Hornet’s HONEYBEE! We took these in the French Quarter, I love all the colors and textures. She did awesome and was great in front of the camera. I’m looking forward to sharing her Wedding images with you all next week :)

I was excited when Brittany contacted me about a Bridal session! She and I went to high school together at Dominican. It was a beautiful day and I was happy to have some nice weather! Brittany looked gorgeous, loved her hair and Vera Wang gown! I didn’t photograph her Wedding, but I enjoyed photographing her Bridals. She just got married this past weekend :) Here are some of my favs:

I photographed Melissa’s Wedding a couple of weeks ago and I have been waiting to share her Bridals! Looking forward to sharing her Wedding images this week on the blog too :) We took these at City Park and it was a gorgeous day! Melissa looked beautiful!!

We headed to City Park to photograph Alexis’ Bridal Portraits! She looked so beautiful! I’ve been waiting to share these with you guys, but needed to wait until her Wedding was over :) I am looking forward to sharing those, too. Still editing…! It’s been so much fun getting to really know Alexis since the day she booked with me almost 2 years ago! We grew up in the same neighborhood, so of course we know lots of the same people! I had a great time with Alexis, her mom and sister at this shoot! Extra hands are always helpful for Bridal session!

Kendle was such a stunning bride! Her Wedding was my last one of 2011 and it was just beautiful! I hope to have her Wedding photos blogged soon! We took her Bridals back in September and I’ve been waiting to share these since then! These were taken at City Park and it was a gorgeous day – the camera loved Kendle! Here are some that I loved!!

I photographed Christa’s Bridals back in October of this year, and she married last month! I’ve been meaning to share these with you guys for a while, but honestly kept forgetting to post since I couldn’t share until after her Wedding. It’s been so busy lately with all the family and kids shoots! This was another client that previously booked a Wedding photographer, but came to me to have her Bridals taken. I always love meeting new people regardless if I am shooting their Wedding or not. Every bride is welcome :)

Well, I have 3 more sessions this week and then I’ll be enjoying some time off from shooting. However, there will be lots of editing to do this week! Did I mention how much Christmas shopping I have left to do? Geeze!

I had a blast photographing Sylvia’s Bridals a couple of months ago. She is just so beautiful and the camera loved her. We chatted back in forth a good bit about adding certain props and accessories to her shoot to make sure she got that “look.” I think she did great and I loved the way her red lips just popped in the photos! These were taken at a few of my favorite little spots in City Park. I just love the natural scenery in the background, she makes the photos. I am looking forward to sharing her Wedding with you all tomorrow!!

STUNNING!!!!

Sooo, there’s a new JEN AMATO in town! As of last night, I have a sister-in-law and yes she will share my maiden name! I told her it was all good unless she started up her own photography business, then we were going to run into some problems ;)

I can’t explain to you how much enjoyed myself yesterday being a part of their Wedding day. All week we could see that there was going to be some rain coming in for this weekend, but never figured it would turn into a tropical storm! Friday night, I can honestly say I started to get a bit nervous, but knew in the end it would all work out. They lined up some of the best vendors in the city – who only had one intention – which was to make this the best day ever! There was no canceling anything, despite a little rain! The news really does a good job at trying to freak people out! So aggravating! Saturday morning came and I had plans to get to the Roosevelt around 9am where all the girls were doing prep. Our street was flooded since it had rained all night, so we couldn’t get our low cars out the driveway. Well my dad came and picked me up in his big pick up truck. We first stopped off at Academy and I bought Jen some baby blue polka dot rain boots! I thought it would be cute for her to wear them in a few photos!

Well the prep at the Roosevelt was fun, it was nice to just primp with the girls, drink mimosa’s and hang out. There were times in the day where the sun came out and was shinning so bright through the windows, this is when you’d hear a bunch of “wooo hoo’s”!! Overall, we only ran into a little rain which was when we were heading to the reception. The rain didn’t stop a thing – we had soo much fun. I danced my booty off, I can’t wait to see the photos and videos. I had a blast with my friends from Studio Tran and Dyle Films – love them! Of course there were parts in the night when I stole their cameras or helped with holding up the detail lights. I couldn’t help myself, I felt like I just needed to be doing something. I am so used to shooting Weddings! However, I had an amazing time being on the other side :)

So on to Jen’s Bridal pictures. We took these a few weeks ago and I have been patiently waiting to share these with you guys! I really wanted to make an effort to try and “style” this shoot a little bit. Jen and I brought along alot of props to make her shoot really unique. I’ve been giving some thought to these types of shoots and I’m looking forward to changing some things up next year with my business. I am at my most comfortable and most creative when I have certain things play out. That being atmosphere, props, lighting, mood, etc… These things are all so important to getting that “look” in photos. 2011 has been my busiest year yet and I am soo incredibly happy to have been given the opportunity to photograph lots of beautiful and unique people. Sometimes it gets hard to style each and every single one of my sessions. I’ve been thinking about sending out a questionnaire and tip email to my clients before their sessions. I want them to get their creative wheels turning too, so that we can make some really special photos together! I’m trying to stay committed to only booking a certain amount of Weddings for next year. I may be going in a new direction soon with a couple of areas of my business, more on that later when the time comes and I’m ready to talk about.

I just want to say Congratulations again to my sweet brother Chris and my new sister Jen! I love you both so very much! Thank you for trusting me enough to capture this special time in your lives! Your Engagement Session and these Bridals will always be special to me. I’m here when you need me. I can’t wait for the next chapter in our lives. I’ll be right here ready to capture it all. I am so lucky to have you guys in my life!

So I’ve had Rebecca’s Bridals ready to share for months now! We took these back in May at City Park, the weather was nice for us! I loved Rebecca’s dress, there was so much detail! I photographed their Wedding a couple of weeks ago and I’m looking forward to sharing it here on the blog next week. So be on the lookout for that! :)

Well it’s a full day of editing, making print orders, assembling albums and getting ready for another shoot this afternoon! Thank goodness for Pandora Radio to keep me entertained the days I’m sitting at my desk. Looking forward to having tomorrow off – I’ve been working on a new distressed headboard for our spare bedroom with Randy. Wish I had more time to document this process for you guys to see. Hoping to put the finishing touches on it tomorrow so we can get that room done! I really didn’t want to spend $500+ on a new headboard, so we decided to tackle this project for less than $100 bucks! It’s not too bad, I suggest ya’ll give it a try.

I’ve been excited to share Casey’s Bridals with you all for a while now! We took these a few months ago before the weather got hot! I photographed Casey’s Rehearsal Dinner this past Friday and her Wedding on Saturday. She was just beautiful! The reception was held at The Audubon Tea Room, so for Casey’s Bridals – she wanted to incorporate the Audubon Zoo in her photos. Her Wedding favors were Boxed Animal Crackers, Hubig Pie’s and Roman Candy, she displayed some of her Bridal portraits near this area at the Reception. It was very cute!

So my week begins this morning with 2 portrait sessions! I am about to head out the door… but not before I woke and said a few quick prayers first and then sat down to eat some breakfast :) I’ve been on this breakfast kick, hoping that it will get my metabolism going in the morning which in turn will help me shed some lbs! I was always really bad about eating breakfast, usually the first thing I put in my mouth everyday would be lunch around 1pm. We had a nutrionist come talk to us at Fitcamp a few months ago. She mentioned that a whole wheat English muffin with Natural Peanut Butter and sliced Banana was a great start to the day. That’s what I’ve been having and it gives me energy and keeps me full until lunch. I’ve also been eating Greek Yogurt with fruit.

I have 6 shoots this week and a Wedding to photograph this weekend. Let’s see if I can get through all the sessions without needing to reschedule due to rain! Yesterday was just a mess with that constant drizzle we had! Looking forward to having lots to share here on the site! Happy Tuesday, hope you all have a blessed week!

Here is Casey, pretty as can be!

I had a great time photographing Frances a few weeks ago for her Bridals! Her dad owns Progressive Barge, which are the huge barge’s that you see on the River sometimes. Frances works for her Dad, so she wanted to incorporate that into her shoot! I love when brides have new and fresh ideas! Definitely gets the creative parts moving around in my head! Her dad also loves this old car that he keeps in his warehouse, so we did some fun photos with the blue car as well! We headed back to River Ridge to do a few with her pups afterward- all around great shoot!

It was a pleasure to photograph both Frances’ Engagement Session and her Bridals! Looking forward to sharing her Wedding images sometime this week!!

Hey gang, I hope you all had a great weekend- I was pretty busy with shooting, but did manage to get a couple of hours of pool time in yesterday at my parents. I’ll try to keep up with my posts over the next couple of weeks, but my schedule is looking pretty crazy. I have so much editing to do right now. I don’t think I’ve ever been this backed up. I’m not complaining though- I am so thankful for each and every one of you who follow my blog or have had me as your photographer. Your support is where I find the strength to wake up everyday and work. Having your own business can be difficult to manage and balance your time. Even though I work from home while editing- I keep business hours as if I was “clocking in” somewhere. I work a lot of overtime, too ;) It can be tempting to want to wake up every day and just go get my nails done, go out to lunch, lay out by the pool and watch movies on the sofa. As relaxing as that sounds- I’ve learned to “save up” for those moments. I find balance by working really hard, so the times when I do get a “break” – – I’m able to enjoy it that much more knowing that I’ve “earned” it. I’m probably getting a little too personal right now- but I don’t really care. Every Sunday at mass I pray that God allows me to continue with this career that I am so fortunate to have. There will be a lot of late nights in the weeks ahead just trying to get caught up and that’s perfectly fine by me. My beach trips that are coming up will just be that much more rewarding.

I have been waiting to share these Bridals with you all for sooo long! I took these of Beverly in Baton Rouge, just a month or so before her Wedding. She was just breathe taking! Her makeup looked incredible, which was done by Suzette from UpSa Daisy salon. Hands down – the best! Beverly’s family reminded me alot of my own. BIG ITALIAN FAMILY! More on that tomorrow- when I’ll be blogging her Wedding images :) She had a crew of about 5-6 people with her during her Bridal Session, doing everything they could to make sure her photos were perfect! So here is a peek from our day. I drove the entire way back to New Orleans thinking about my job and how lucky I am to capture shoots like this.

I photographed Lauren’s Bridals several months ago and I’ve been waiting to share for a while now! Lauren and Dan married last weekend, I am in the middle of editing their Wedding. I’ll post those next week when I’m finished :) We took her Bridals at City Park, the weather was cool and comfortable! Lauren looked just BEAUTIFUL!

Things have been really busy lately, its the time of year. I took a little break this past Wednesday and went to the Beau Rivage with 2 of my friends. They are both pharmacists, so they live very busy lives as well. We needed a getaway, a little retreat. We hung out by the pool, drank frosty drinks, soaked up some sun, won some money at the casino, got massages and ate dinner at Ruth’s Chris. We all need to do that every now and then. Remembering to pamper yourself does a body and mind some good! It’s fun to just refresh and come back to work with a clear head. Looking forward to spending time with my family this weekend. I haven’t had a weekend off in quite some time. I turned down several weddings for this upcoming Saturday. Sometimes you just need to say No and remember what’s most important during the Holidays. Family, laughing, eating good food, celebrating being in good health, remembering that Jesus gave up his life for us, the list goes on and on. I hope you all truly enjoy your weekend and remember to give thanks. I will cherish the upcoming days as I’m sure you will too. Happy Good Friday :)

I’ve been looking forward to posting Megan’s Bridals for a while now! We took these about two months ago in Baton Rouge and my favorites have been sitting in a folder waiting to get put on the blog. Can’t show the bride in her dress until the big day is over ;) I photographed her wedding last weekend in Baton Rouge, which I am currently editing. They should be up soon! I love when clients have ideas for their portrait sessions. Whether it be Bridals, Engagements, or any of my other sessions. I really do crave interesting and new places that I haven’t been before. I remember Megan emailing me photos of the cute little church and some other things she liked. I knew her session was going to be great because she had a vision before we even arrived.

This past weekend, Randy and I photographed the last wedding booked for 2010! We had a great time with Tori and Ric and I’m looking forward to sharing their Wedding images with you all. I took Tori’s Bridals a couple of months ago and I’ve been waiting to post them. She looks beautiful! Tori and I went to grammar school together, so it was great to catch up with her again.

On another note… you can tell Thanksgiving is over. My email has been quiet over the past few days and today I am getting blown up. Everyone is scheduling and getting things done since it’s Monday. It’s nice to hear from all of you guys! So today has been dedicated to emailing, blogging, and trying to get some last minute things done for the bathroom. Editing will have to wait until tonight, the house is too noisy. Yall, this place is a disaster, I can’t wait for the renovations to be done :( Trying to see the light at the end of tunnel. Just as our kitchen renovation, I’ll share the start to finish.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving break! I’m ready to get started on my 20+ portrait sessions that are all scheduled before Christmas gets here. WISH ME LUCK and of course…. stay tuned ;)

I couldn’t wait to post Amber’s Bridals! I love the way these came out, her dress was stunning! Reminds me alot of what my wedding dress loooked like. Honestly ya’ll, I’m just realizing I haven’t posted my wedding pictures here on my blog. I’ll do that soon. I swear I’ve been so wrapped up in everyone else’s photos, I need to post some of mine. I have so many favorites, it’s going to take me forever to sort though. But I will do… sooner or later ;) Maybe over Christmas when I give myself a little time off. I got an email from Blink Video saying there were about to start working on my video too. Whoop whoop!

I grew up with Amber, you may remember her Engagement Session that I photographed a few months back. We had lots of fun taking her Bridals, she had a little team with her to help out with carrying her dress, applying lip gloss, etc.. That always helps us out!! I photographed these at City Park and they are some of my most favorites yet!

Hey guys! Pheww… happy the month of October is history! :) It was by far my busiest month EVER and it’s such a nice feeling to look back at my calendar and see the 6 Weddings and 10+ Portrait sessions that I had. I’m still getting over my head cold which is ever so annoying. I hate being stuffy and I’d rather just let it ride it’s course because I hate even more the way cold medicine makes you feel. (Like a crazy person) I am so excited for November for several reasons: (My Birthday Month, my best friend Dana is getting married in the Bahamas, it’s the month that I started dating Randy about 9 years ago, Thanksgiving with my family and there’s lots of fun people to photograph over the next several weeks!)

I am finally able to share Sarah’s Bridals with you all! She married last Sunday at Southern Oaks Plantation. I am just about finished editing her wedding, so I hope to have those up soon too! She was such a beautiful bride! I met Sarah though my friend Dana a couple of years ago. It’s always so hard to hold out on posting Bridals until the wedding is over, but it’s worth the wait!

WHO DAT!! I went to the game last night, so I’m a little tired today. ZzzZZzzzz… Happy Monday!!
