My beautiful friend Melanie welcomed her baby boy Kallen into the world a couple of weeks ago! I was so excited when she asked me to come take some photos at her home in Mandeville! I love the simplicity of the casual home shots and Kallen’s big sisters holding him. It was a fun day and I’m so glad I was able to capture such sweetness for them! They just grow up so fast! Happy we were able to do some family shots and some single shots of baby boy! Here are some favs :)

I photographed Grady’s parents Maternity Session, so it was so much fun getting to do the newborn pictures too! We took these last week, I love all the shots we were able to get – what a cutie!!!

Officially booking newborn sessions again! I took the year off from shooting them until my Gracie girl was old enough. Since they require 2-4 hours of shooting, I knew I needed to take a little break from them for a while. Happily, I’ve started booking them again and having so much fun seeing these new little bambinos!! Trace did great for his session! Congratulations to our dear friends Juan and Anne on their new addition!

I love photographing for this sweet family!! It’s been awesome watching their family grow over the years :) Olivia is the little sister to Ava! You may recognize her precious face. I photographed this newborn session last week at 9 months pregnant! When I booked this session, I kept wondering if I was going to be able to do it? I photographed Charles & Philip the Monday before Hurricane Issac hit. I knew we needed get this session photographed before the boys were too old and not considered “newborns” anymore. Thankfully we were able to get some adorable photos just in time before his parents started packing up to evacuate and leave NOLA. I had a wonderful session with Charlotte on Tuesday. I am on a roll with editing… go me! :) I love being this caught up. She was just a little doll for her session and slept about the entire time. I photographed sweet little Robert for his newborn session and he did great! This little one loved being outside :) His Dad is a soccer fan so we had some fun with the soccer ball and jersey. Loved the tie and also his parents Wedding bands. I always enjoy capturing the fun ideas my clients have for their sessions!

I had a great time photographing Newborn Tony! He was such a little angel for me, so sweet and gave me a few smiles :) I’ve been knowing his Mom, Amanda since we were younger – we grew up in the same neighborhood. Tony has the cutest little face, I could just eat him up! And look at those lips! Thank you Amanda for having me photograph such a special time in your life – I know how much yall love your little peanut :)

A couple of weeks ago we welcomed the newest member into our family. My cousin Kelly had her third child… Katherine Amelia! She is cute as a button and we all can’t get over how much she looks like her older brother, Ben. Last week I went to visit and snap some photos of Sweet Kate. She did great! I love the photos of the 3 Kiddo’s together as well. There’s something about taking pictures of siblings at home. I’m always outdoors shooting in natural light, but I like the simplicity and comfy feeling of the kids with their little sister in bed.

It’s still hard to believe that my cousin and her husband have brought 3 beautiful children into the world. Seems like yesterday that my brothers and all the cousins were running around as children ourselves…. filming magic shows and fake foldger’s coffee commercials! We had so much fun together!

Our friends David and Ashley welcomed their 2nd daughter Drew Vivian into the world last month. Drew is about 5-6 weeks in these photos, but she came early so she is still tiny :) You may remember Drew’s sister Sophia? I photographed her last year for her 1 year portraits. Looking forward to watching Sophia and Drew grow up with that special sister bond. It’s always exciting when someone close to me has a baby! You guys may remember Tim & Amy’s Maternity session that I photographed a couple of months back? Well their little baby arrived and it’s a BOY!! I think that is so exciting when parent’s wait to find out what they are having – so fun! Well, little Benjamin was 7 days old when I took these photos of him last week. He did great! Tim has some Indian heritage in his family, so we took a couple of shots with the Indian moccasins and throw blanket! Love those!

Do you guys remember the cowboy baby shower we had a couple of months ago? My cousin Rob & his beautiful wife Allison welcomed their twins into the world last month! I was so excited to go visit them this past weekend and get a couple of shots for their birth announcement. This was just a little mini shoot, they are so precious and sweet :)

Wow, what an honor it is to photograph the first born for your good friends! I’ve known Wesley since we were children! His parents and my parents go wayyyy back! Then I met Erica around age 11 or 12! It’s so awesome to see these two get married and bring this precious miracle into the world! I photographed this session on Valentine’s Day morning! :) I am finally getting all caught up with editing. I took off a couple of days for Mardi Gras, but I have been sitting at my computer the last 2 days pumping out some great images for my clients!! I am excited about all that will be on the blog in the next few days :)

I have been friends with Adele’s parents, Bobby & Therese for years and years!! I was so happy when I found out they were having a baby! Many months went by and I didn’t see Therese again until about 2 days before she was headed the hospital to have Adele. Bobby and Therese are first time parents, so it was exciting to talk with them about how they expected it to go, what they were going to feel like when they saw Adele for the first time, etc! When we photographed her newborn session I saw how in love these 2 are with their baby girl! She is just the sweetest thing and I was so excited to photograph this special time for them! Adele has the most beautiful brown hair and eyes. Her hair is so long its ready for a pony or pigtails! I just love it and her!

Thank you Bobby & Therese for asking me to take these photos of your precious little girl. It was so much fun catching up with you guys and being able to enjoy your new addition! I can’t wait to watch her grow up, I can tell from our shoot that she is going to be one sassy, bright eyed, energetic little hot tamale ;) Love you guys!

It was such an honor to photograph this little Miracle Baby! Liam was so sweet and cute for our session that I could have taken him home! His mom, Mary emailed me about a session and briefly filled me in. Liam was born early at 27 weeks, weighing only 15 oz! His parents said he measured the length of a pencil. After being in the hospital for nearly 100 days, it was time for little man to come home! He is strong, healthy and full of life now. It’s days like this when I truly feel a connection with my career and the wonderful people I get to meet! Liam is a blessing and he reminds me of God’s power to heal. Thank you to his parents, Mary and Clint for giving me this opportunity. Your guys have a little piece of heaven here with you! Liam is precious and I was thrilled to be able to document just a tiny bit of his story! Thank you for sharing your miracle with me for one afternoon :)

Here’s another sweet little newborn session to share with you all! Meet Mason, he was born right around Christmas time… what a beautiful gift! I took these at this parents home and did a mix of inside and outside photos, he did great for us! Anyone notice all the newborn shoots lately? December was a popular month to have a little bambino! I have a couple more next month as well! This is Lucy and she is so ridiculously cute! I was so happy that her Mom, Emily asked me to take some photos of her nursery while I was there. It was just precious! Lucy was great for me that day and it was fun capturing this special time for her parents! I also photographed her cousin Rhemi’s newborn photos last year and I can’t get over how much Lucy looks like her! It’s been a beautiful week helping my clients make memories, thank you all so much! One more shoot go today, then it’s HAPPPPY NEEEW YEAARRR!!

I photographed sweet Amelia last Wednesday and she did awesome! Her Mommy cleans my teeth at my Dentist’s office :) Thank you, Yvonne for always making sure my teeth stay healthy!! I had a great time photographing Amelia, she is such an Angel. This time of year is always a bit chilly, but we had a beautiful day for her photos. We were able to do a mix of indoor and outdoor shots! I couldn’t wait to share her photos with you guys! Also, thank you Yvonne for the little gift, I love herbal tea! Some days I really am so spoiled by my clients kindness. I am so lucky to have all of you in my life!

What an honor it was when my cousin Erin asked me to be Baby Reed’s Godmother! She gave me a framed ultrasound photo of him and it said “Hi Nanny!” in a little bubble. I look at it all the time and still can’t believe he’s here! The girls in the family went over to Erin’s house the week before Reed made his arrival. We cooked dinner and just hung out – it was nice and I wish we made more time for nights like that. Now when I go visit, it’s funny to see a new little person there :) Reed is so handsome and I can’t wait to see him grow up. It’s been fun to watch all the stages while we anxiously awaited his arrival.

Thank you to my Mother in Law for the new crocheted animal sets and my friend Leslie for the couple of hats she let me borrow for Reed. I am slowly building up my newborn accessory collection, lots of new kiddos are joining “Grow With Me”! I could buy everything off etsy! I have a few new hats I am about to order.

So here is the little sweetness! He gave me about 4 smiles during his shoot…… that’s because he knew his Nanny was taking his pictures ;)

Lily was amazing for her shoot! I love when I’m able to get a mix of indoor and outdoor shots! The weather was beautiful, a slight breeze but still warm enough for Lily to go outside. When I pull up to the parents home for a newborn shoot, my eyes are constantly moving looking for places we can find outdoors. There was a beautiful open field with those little cat tail weeds that I love! This shoot has me excited about my Godson Reed, who is supposed to arrive early next week! I’ll be posting some photos as it gets closer. I’ll be doing the birth photography my cousin Erin, I’m preparing myself for lots of tears! Anywho – more on that later!

He comes a whole lot of CUTE x 2!! I was so incredibly happy when Erin emailed me about photographing her twins, and to top it off – a boy and girl! I feel like lately I’ve been given some pretty cool and unique experiences with clients. After lots and lots of newborn shoots, I can honestly say I’ve never had the pleasure of photographing twins. I was a bit nervous before this shoot. I dreamt the night before that I just went the shoot and played with the babies the whole time. By the time I realized I needed to start the shooting, it was dark outside and I had no window light. HAHA! Who dreams about this random stuff? I woke up relieved!

Anyway, so Griffin and Cecilia were so sweet and well behaved! They slept for me almost the entire time, so we were able to move them around a good bit. I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this session with you guys, I just finished up with the photos :) Thanks again Erin and Donnie for giving me the opportunity to photograph your little peanuts, they are too adorable for words! The twins were just around 5 lbs each, so we stayed inside for this shoot. A little different than the typical newborn stuff I usually post, but I am so thankful for this. It PUSHED me to think harder, to study, to practice my lighting, to get creative and find new props and ideas! LOVE LOVE!

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing little Mr. Jude! He did great for us :) We took some outside and also got a few inside using some natural light coming through the door and windows. I loved the little crocheted beanie hat and diaper cover that his mom, Brittani had for him! Here are some of my favs from our morning:

Meet little Miss Lily! Soo, the past few newborn sessions I’ve done- I’ve really been spoiled! They have all been wonderful. Barely any fussing, they all just nap so peacefully in this warmth outside. As you all know, I do all of my sessions outdoors in natural light. Even my newborns! I just love the contrast of baby, with bright colored blankets/baskets set against the natural color and texture of the outdoors. Every now and then I photograph inside if there’s really pretty window light.

Lily was an angel and she did so well for her session! I’ve known Blake and Ashley for a while now, so I was excited to photograph their new addition. My ‘soon to be’ sis-in-law made some adorable headpieces for Lily. The rosettes are my favorite kind and the jeweled embelishment made it even prettier! She is in the process of making about 10-15 of them right now and I will most likely feature them on the blog soon. Email me if anyone wants to purchase some for their session or just to have! They are so cute with any outfit.

Little Samuel is finally here! You may remember his parent’s Maternity session that I photographed last month? I was super excited when Samuel’s mom, Stephanie contacted me to photograph his newborn session as well! There have been so many little one’s being born lately. I have 3 more newborn shoots this week! They are so much fun to photograph, it really is interesting to see how similar yet different each baby is. Looking forward to watching Samuel grow up!
