Butch & Stephanie :: Engagement

Last week I photographed Butch and Stephanie’s Engagement Session – LOVED IT! When I get to photograph new places, it reminds me why I feel in love with my job so many years ago. The challenge of a new area makes me happy. I drove up and down Magazine with Randy a couple of weeks ago and decided this would be a cool place to shoot. We really should do this more often because Randy always seems to have  a good eye when it comes to finding creative places.

I had a great time with Butch and Stephanie and I can’t wait to photograph their Wedding this coming April! I loved Stephanie’s bright dresses- colors like that always photograph well. Sooner or later once I find some time, I’ll be posting a “Frequently Asked Questions” and “What to Wear” section on my blog to help anyone who needs ideas.

We had a blast in Vegas over the past 4 days for the huge photography conference held there. Trip was too short!! I’ll try and post a couple of photos soon.

Heading to Vegas!!

Hey Guys! Just a little reminder that I’ll be out of town from Sunday 2/20 – Wednesday 2/23 for WPPI (Wedding & Potrait Photographers International) in Vegas! Looking forward to seeing all the new things at the trade show. Having a couple of days off with Randy and our friends will be nice too! Much needed after a realllly long week. 4 sessions over the past couple of days and then we shot a Wedding tonight. I have nothing packed and it’s almost midnight. I’m sitting here typing this as I wait for the pictures to load on my computer from tonight. Leaving at 8am and have a million things to do- better get started!!!! Randy made me eat Sonic on our way home tonight because for some reason we feel like we deserve 3,000 calories after standing up/running around with camera equipment for 8 hours. Not so much, now I feel sick! Wondering why I do it to myself?

I’ll be checking my emails periodically, so I’ll try my best to respond when I can. Hopefully I’ll be able to do a little bit of personal shooting too! Our friends Dana and Tim with be there with us. I want to take “After The I Do” photos of those two around Vegas… however they hate being in front the camera. Maybe I’ll get lucky and knock some sense into em’??

Max :: Newborn

Max’s newborn session was shot outdoors which made me really happy! I love when I pull up to the parents house and see lots of interesting things that we’ll be able to use for our backdrops. An older street in New Orleans is always bound to have fun colors and cool things for shoots. I’ve been trying to step outside my box/comfort zone. I feel like I think more creatively when I go somewhere new. Looking forward to sharing a fun engagement session I photographed this week – it was a place my camera had never been before :) Max was such a sweetheart, here are some of my favorites!

The Delatte’s :: Family

I photographed the Delatte Family this past weekend, it’s always so nice to catch up with old friends! I grew up in River Ridge with Emily and Adam, we all attended St. Matthew for grammar school and then Emily and I went to Dominican for High School. It’s been years! Mr. Roy & Mrs. Sadie have always been so sweet, it was great to see them again too. Adam is now married to his wife Taryn and they have a handsome little boy named Evan. Emily has always been a doll and she has one of those contagious laughs that make you laugh. Her daughter Lilly is adorable! :) We had beautiful weather in City Park that morning!

Here are some that made me smile:

Tutti Frutti River Ridge

Hey Yall! I just want to say thanks so much to each of you who follow my photography on facebook. It really has become such a great place to keep in touch! Since, it’s been so great I wanted to give you a heads up if you live in my area of River Ridge. My brother Jimmy is opening up a Tutti Frutti in River Ridge. Should be open in the next couple of months. I am so excited because I think we’ve been talking yogurt in my family for over a year now. Dreaming of this and dreaming of that…. It’s been awesome to live the journey of it all through Jimmy. Lot’s more progress to go and I’ll hopefully be able to post the process once it’s all finished! I helped put up some construction photos today of the location, they are viewable from the facebook page. I’m so glad I won’t have to drive 20 minutes to get my Tutti Frutti fix anymore!
