Lucy :: Newborn

Anyone notice all the newborn shoots lately? December was a popular month to have a little bambino! I have a couple more next month as well! This is Lucy and she is so ridiculously cute! I was so happy that her Mom, Emily asked me to take some photos of her nursery while I was there. It was just precious! Lucy was great for me that day and it was fun capturing this special time for her parents! I also photographed her cousin Rhemi’s newborn photos last year and I can’t get over how much Lucy looks like her! It’s been a beautiful week helping my clients make memories, thank you all so much! One more shoot go today, then it’s HAPPPPY NEEEW YEAARRR!!

Availabilty & Pinterest Fun!

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who check in regularly to see whats new! I can’t believe 2011 is almost over. I have my final two shoots of the year tomorrow and then I’ll enjoy a nice, relaxing New Years weekend with my family and friends. I counted the portrait sessions I photographed over the past 12 months and my jaw dropped. I honestly had no idea how many, I’m just on cruise control all year until I actually sit back and look at my calendar. I am so thankful to have all my clients support and also the support of my friends and family who spread the word about my photography business. Last year I started blogging everything I shot. Weddings, Rehearsals, Special Events, Portrait Sessions, some Personal photos, etc! It’s fun for me to look back on this past year and see my work here on web. Blogging in my last step when editing someones session. My work is not complete until that’s done :) That’s why when my website was giving me trouble last month, I almost had a heart attack. Needless to say, I was a bit lost!

I am currently booked solid for the month of January, I have a couple more spots for February, and mostly booking for March and afterward. My “Grow With Me” kids always get top priority with scheduling, so that’s the great thing about signing up. Their availability is guaranteed. If you are a past client who didn’t sign up for GWM, but still would like 6 month or 1 year photos, please be in touch at least 2 months in advance to book your date.

Also, just a heads up… after 2 years of having the same portrait pricing, my regular sessions are now $350. I changed this about 3 months ago for a few reasons. With the cost and time of travel, the hour long shoot, all editing, photo CD of high-resolution photos, and blogposts of the session – I had numerous people tell me it was time to raise before I wore myself out. I spend between 5-8 hours on each session. I am slowly learning to say no and to only take in what I can handle. I hope 2012 brings lots of new and old faces to photograph. I am truly blessed to call this my job. I work hard because I enjoy making people happy. I hope that my dedication, patience, and consistency shines through here on the blog. Without you all – there wouldn’t be anything to share. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas, I really enjoyed spending time with my loved ones. I took some time out to make a couple of small appetizers and desserts from pinterest! I can’t wait to get back to working out and eating healthy. The Holidays are filled with splurging left and right. One last weekend to make it all count and then back to focusing on being healthy :)

Amelia :: Newborn

I photographed sweet Amelia last Wednesday and she did awesome! Her Mommy cleans my teeth at my Dentist’s office :) Thank you, Yvonne for always making sure my teeth stay healthy!! I had a great time photographing Amelia, she is such an Angel. This time of year is always a bit chilly, but we had a beautiful day for her photos. We were able to do a mix of indoor and outdoor shots! I couldn’t wait to share her photos with you guys! Also, thank you Yvonne for the little gift, I love herbal tea! Some days I really am so spoiled by my clients kindness. I am so lucky to have all of you in my life!

The Stine’s :: Family

I photographed The Stine Family last week at Audubon Park, what a cute little family! Always nice to have repeat clients, its a joy to watch their kids grow up! We had nice weather for this shoot, I think we are finally about to get some of that chilly winter weather coming up soon though! I now own about 5 pairs of those fingerless gloves and received lots of new scarves for Christmas, I’m ready for it! Honestly, I love winter outfits. There is so much you can do when accessorizing for Winter shoots. Hats, scarves and layering patterns and textures of fabric! The next few weeks are crazy packed, so I look forward to having lots to share with you all!

Sophia :: Senior

I could photograph Senior sessions every. single. day! I always leave their shoots feeling refreshed and inspired! I’m not sure if it’s their youthful, fun loving attitudes or if its because I don’t get to photograph them that often? Either way… they make me happy! :) Sophia was so much fun – she had lots of outfits and ideas! The first 2 outfits were taken in my parents backyard!! I love the overgrown viney fence and of course the red barn! My entire life, my parents have had horses and a stable… in their backyard. Sophia had seen photos of the barn on my blog and asked if we could begin her shoot there… OF COURSE!! We had an amazing session and I love the shots we were able to get. If any of you know Seniors who want fun and fresh photos – send them my way!!

Grow With Me Newborns

Greyson :: Newborn

I am so thrilled to have new babies join the “Grow With Me” club! I feel like I’m always talking about this.. but it really makes me happy! To capture the first year of a child’s life is such an honor. I am reminded how blessed I am when I get the chance to meet new people and become their photographer. I can’t wait to watch Greyson grow over the next year. His mom, Laura laughed and said she has no clue how I do this? It’s weird, I have this calmness around kids and babies and my patience takes over. To be completely honest, there are several areas in my life where I have absolutely no patience! I guess everyone was put on this earth for different reasons, I’m thankful that photographing kids is one of the things that brings me joy.

I’m proud of myself for keeping up with my editing over the past couple of weeks, this time of year is REALLY hard to stay focused. I’ve been up since 6:45am making sure I am on track and everything that needs to get done today… gets done! I am looking forward to enjoying the next 3 days OFF with my family. This is such a special time of year! I’m headed out to get my nails done and finish Christmas shopping with my hubby, who took the day off! :) Oh, that’s one thing I really don’t have patience for…. Christmas shopping! I’m over it. We are all so blessed to have everything we could possibly need. One year I’m just going to make a donation to my favorite charity for each person I usually buy a gift for. That just seems to make more sense. On of these years…. I will do that ;)

Hunter & Kendle :: Wedding

What a great way to end my 2011 Wedding season! Hunter & Kendle married on December 10, 2011! Prep was at the Sheraton, the Ceremony was at Mater Dolorosa Church and the Reception was at my favorite place, Pavilion of Two Sisters. The same place where I had my reception! It was nice to see so many familiar faces at this Wedding, I had lots of friends there. Hunter & Kendle are such a sweet couple, it truly was a pleasure to capture their Wedding!

Christa :: Bridals

I photographed Christa’s Bridals back in October of this year, and she married last month! I’ve been meaning to share these with you guys for a while, but honestly kept forgetting to post since I couldn’t share until after her Wedding. It’s been so busy lately with all the family and kids shoots! This was another client that previously booked a Wedding photographer, but came to me to have her Bridals taken. I always love meeting new people regardless if I am shooting their Wedding or not. Every bride is welcome :)

Well, I have 3 more sessions this week and then I’ll be enjoying some time off from shooting. However, there will be lots of editing to do this week! Did I mention how much Christmas shopping I have left to do? Geeze!

The Leingang’s :: Family

I photographed the Leingang Family last year as well, so it was great to see them again! Little Jovie is cute as can be! Full of smiles, serious faces and silly ones too! We took these at Audubon Park, I love the color of the trees this time of year. My photos always seem to take a warmer tone in the Fall because the green leaves turn to brown and red.

Josie :: 1 Year

I can’t believe sweet Josie is now ONE! Where did the time go? We had 5 awesome sessions this past year and she did great! I always joke with Josie’s Mom because she has this little lizard tongue that she sticks out all the time. It’s so funny! This time around we added her parents in for some shots. I know I say this all the time, but I get so attached to my Grow With Me clients. Their kids become a familiar face and always brighten my day! Josie’s Mom, Nicole even had a gift for me when I finished up with their session. A thoughtful note and a tranquility spa candle. I left their shoot thinking about how fortunate I am to have people like this in my life! Here are some of my favs from the day:

The Marquez’s :: Family

It feels like yesterday that I photographed Tripp’s newborn session… and now look at him! He’s 8 months old and the cutest thing ever! I could just pinch those little cheeks all day! I’ve known Larry and Leslie for so long and they crack me up! I laughed because I asked Larry to get in a certain pose and of course he had to make fun of me and say… you mean like this?? Seriously, sometimes it’s hard to pose MEN! They always go to sit down and and never know which way to bend their legs!! HAHA! Never a dull moment with this crew, always lots of laughs! Sean & Stefanie :: Engagement

I photographed Sean and Stefanie’s Engagement session last week in the French Quarter! What a sweet couple! They are getting married in Indiana next year so they brought along the Indiana University letters to incorporate in their shoot. Also brought along to some scrabble letters to spell out “Forever And Always.” I love when clients come with ideas, it always makes for a fun shoot :) Lately I’ve shot several Bridal and Engagement sessions for clients who are getting married out of town, love getting to meet new people!! Grant :: Newborn

I am so happy to welcome newborn baby Grant! He is the newest member of the “Grow with Me” club! I honestly can’t tell you how happy it makes me to photograph the first year of a child’s life. I just finished up a 1 year shoot this afternoon with another “Grow with Me” client! Bittersweet when they turn one! It’s so nice getting to know the family over the course of the year!

I photographed sweet Grant last week and he did great! Do you guys remember Lindsey’s Maternity session I shot back in September? Well he is finally here!! It’s so cute how much he looks like his big sister. I can’t wait to watch this little fella grow up, he sure is handsome!

The Interiano’s :: Family

Last Friday I photographed my beautiful friend Christina and her family! I’ve been to City Park and the French Quarter a good bit lately, so we ventured to Oak Street! I LOVE this area, it has so much charm and funk! Another one of my favorite little nooks, so many unique spots! There is nothing like a family that knows how to let loose in front of the camera. Mario Jr., Camrin, & Ethan are at such a fun age to work with. They just posed away, I really enjoy that! Loved their outfits and the Saint’s theme at the end was awesome!!

While editing their photos, I’m reminded once again how much I truly enjoy my job. Nothing comes easy and my days are really long this time of year. My goal is to have happy clients who either tell their friends about me or come back in the future for more shoots. Making sure my clients are taken care of and putting in lots of had work is what has brought me to this place. I never in a million years thought I would be able to share my craft with so many wonderful people. Feeling very blessed on this beautiful Friday!

Colby & Morgan :: 1 Year Anniversary

Colby & Morgan were such a fun-loving, stylish and energetic couple! I loved their outfits and the attitude they brought along to the session! We took these last week in the French Quarter and it was so nice outside! I was excited to shoot these photos for them, I love anniversary sessions! We walked around the French Quarter and found lots of cool little spots. I had so many favorites, loved them all!

Daniel & Melissa :: Engagement

I photographed Daniel & Melissa’s Engagement session last week in City Park, it was a beautiful sunny afternoon! We first started out in the area of the park where Daniel proposed to Melissa. It’s a cute little nook that has several benches that overlook the water, very pretty! Good job, Daniel! They changed outfits at the very end and let me in on their funny story about the outfit change. When they were first beginning to talk/date, Daniel had picked up Melissa to head out to a Mardi Gras parade. He shows up dressed in the same outfit at Melissa! Striped Mardi Gras shirt, jeans, nearly the same shoes and sunglasses! Funny stuff- so this is one of those things they will always joke about. I really enjoy getting a chance to take couple’s engagement photos because I love hearing about when they first met! Looking forward to shooting Daniel and Melissa’s Wedding this upcoming year!

Adam & Mia :: Engagement

Adam & Mia were a a super cute couple, I had a great time with them last week!! They wanted a few different outfits & locations for their shoot, so they added extra time and did a 2 part Engagement session! We went to Audubon Park and the French Quarter, it was a gorgeous day! The sun was out and it was nice and cool. Not too windy, just perfect! We added their lab in some of the photos and he did great – the treats helped! haha! We cruised all around and found lots of cool spots. Thank you Adam & Mia for such a fun shoot! It was a pleasure to photograph your Engagement Session! Loved the couple of props you brought along, too!

The Giardina’s :: Family

Wow, I love this time of year because I’m always so busy photographing family sessions! I took these last week at Audubon Park  – I LOVED the colors that The Giardina’s decided on for their shoot. Peacock color scheme! It was Mom, Dad, 4 daughters, their significant others and 2 grandkids! Whenever I see a family full of daughters, it makes me wish I had a sister! They were giggling and laughing with each other the whole time. Loved their bond!

On a side note, it’s funny because out of my group of really close 6-8 girlfriends, the majority of us are the only girl in our family with brothers as siblings. Sometimes I think that’s why I’ve remained really close with my girlfriends over the past 10-15 years. (because we all craved having that sisterly bond – so as friends, we’ve found that with each other)

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing sweet Riley for her Newborn, 6 month and 1 year photos! This time we took some family portraits and added Mom, Donna and Dad, Scott in for some fun! The Perez’s :: Family

Last week I headed to Belle Chase, LA to photograph The Perez Family. They have a beautiful piece of property with an old rustic barn that I just loved! I could have photographed there all day. If I had their home, I would never need to leave the house for shoots :) They had so many trees and interesting things to shoot in front of. Loved it! We took the entire Perez Family including spouses and grandchildren, then we did more of Kelly’s family and her two boys! They are cute as can be. It’s always nice to photograph some place new  – I really enjoyed my shoot at their home :)
