Maci :: 1 Year

I photographed Maci last week and she did awesome! I was so excited to hear from her Mom, Crystal when she called to schedule a 1 year shoot for Maci! I remember Crystal from way back when in grammar school! Once again, everyone in our little neighborhood seems to know everyone! Maci is adorable, I loved the outfits and props that Crystal brought along. It’s so funny because if I showed you one of my baby pictures, you’d think this session was of me at 1 year! I looked ALOT like Maci, so funny! (except my hair was darker)

Thank you Crystal for having me capture Maci at such a beautiful age, I hope you love the pictures!!

Beau & Beverly :: Wedding

I posted Beverly’s Bridals yesterday and now it’s time to show you her Wedding!! Beau and Beverly married on May 14, 2011. Preparation began at The Ritz Carlton on Canal Street, the Ceremony was at St. Mary’s Assumption and the Reception was at Gallier Hall. Beverly’s family reminded me a lot of my own- very big Italian family! I remember meeting with Beverly and her parents over a year ago when we sat for coffee to go over Wedding packages. It was as if I had known them forever.

I’m not sure if it’s the time of year knowing that Randy and I’s 1 Year Anniversary is just a few weeks away, but….. this Wedding made me miss mine. I stood back a from a distance a few times and just looked at the love between Beau and Beverly. The way they look at each other would melt your heart. Needless to say, they brought back beautiful memories for me.

I hope you all enjoy their photos, I think they truly represent Beau and Beverly. Their personality, love for each other and happiness on that very special day. Beau and Bev, I know you enjoyed your honeymoon, thanks for allowing us to capture your beautiful Wedding!

Beverly :: Bridals

Hey gang, I hope you all had a great weekend- I was pretty busy with shooting, but did manage to get a couple of hours of pool time in yesterday at my parents. I’ll try to keep up with my posts over the next couple of weeks, but my schedule is looking pretty crazy. I have so much editing to do right now. I don’t think I’ve ever been this backed up. I’m not complaining though- I am so thankful for each and every one of you who follow my blog or have had me as your photographer. Your support is where I find the strength to wake up everyday and work. Having your own business can be difficult to manage and balance your time. Even though I work from home while editing- I keep business hours as if I was “clocking in” somewhere. I work a lot of overtime, too ;) It can be tempting to want to wake up every day and just go get my nails done, go out to lunch, lay out by the pool and watch movies on the sofa. As relaxing as that sounds- I’ve learned to “save up” for those moments. I find balance by working really hard, so the times when I do get a “break” – – I’m able to enjoy it that much more knowing that I’ve “earned” it. I’m probably getting a little too personal right now- but I don’t really care. Every Sunday at mass I pray that God allows me to continue with this career that I am so fortunate to have. There will be a lot of late nights in the weeks ahead just trying to get caught up and that’s perfectly fine by me. My beach trips that are coming up will just be that much more rewarding.

I have been waiting to share these Bridals with you all for sooo long! I took these of Beverly in Baton Rouge, just a month or so before her Wedding. She was just breathe taking! Her makeup looked incredible, which was done by Suzette from UpSa Daisy salon. Hands down – the best! Beverly’s family reminded me alot of my own. BIG ITALIAN FAMILY! More on that tomorrow- when I’ll be blogging her Wedding images :) She had a crew of about 5-6 people with her during her Bridal Session, doing everything they could to make sure her photos were perfect! So here is a peek from our day. I drove the entire way back to New Orleans thinking about my job and how lucky I am to capture shoots like this.

So here she is……. these were some of my favs :)

Seriously, she belongs on the cover of a Bridal Magazine!

Tyler :: 6 Months

Sitting here editing today, listening to Pandora on my computer and gearing up for another Wedding to shoot tonight. It’s been another busy week here in Jen Amato Photography world, with 2 sessions to shoot on Sunday as well. I couldn’t wait to share Tyler’s pictures because he did great! He totally hammed it up for his 6 month session, which is always nice :) His Mom Brittany brought along her good friend Casey to help Tyler laugh. I am also shooting Casey’s Wedding in July! I love when my photography circles around groups of friends and family. It’s a nice feeling.

Here are some that I loved from Tyler’s session. The bathing suit and watering hose was a great addition to a “summer time” session! Props to Mom Brittany for the cute idea!

Belly laughs ;)A little summer time fun!

Tommy :: 8 Months

Little Tommy is now 8 months old! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing his family for a couple of years now, so I was excited to hear when little Tommy was on the way! We were able to get a couple little smiles out of him :) Here are a few favs:
