So… right now I am probably lounging out by the pool, soaking up some sun and spending quality time with my girlfriends. And boy, do I need it! I have had a really really busy past few months and I couldn’t be happier! My friends have been working extremely hard too lately, so we all needed this! I know I mentioned this in a blog post a while back… when you work hard, it makes those special times when you finally do get a break SO MUCH SWEETER. The air smells different, the sun shines a little brighter, and for me…. laughter sounds different. Know what I mean? Contentment, peace of mind, and accomplishment are all great feelings after getting through a busy time.
Lately the sound of laughter has really got me thinking. You know how you’ll hear someone laughing in the next room at something funny on TV and it always makes you smile? Sometimes I feel like laughter is what life is supposed to sound like. It’s an emotion overload that’s expressed in a noise. I feel like its almost like the peek or happiness through expression? I don’t really know how to explain it but its kind of cool to think about. I hope to be doing a lot of laughing this weekend!!!
I just wanted to share a little peek of what us girls will be wearing in our hair tonight! I’m kind of over the whole bachelorette bowwa thing, so we decided hair pieces would be cute instead!! We could have bought some already made for $10-$15 a piece, but we just decided to make them instead. It’s always way more fun to be crafty! My friend Tyler came over this week and we just chatted, had a skinny girl margarita, listened to music and made these!!! ;)
The flowers started out on these clasps that were too painful to wear in our hair. You can see one in this picture. So we decided to take them off and pull the flowers apart and separate their pedals.

I just bought the single daisy’s at Michael’s. They were only 99 cents per!
Next we removed the center of the flower so it wouldn’t look so much like something you would see in a vase. We used gem brads in its place.
We tried them out with just the gem brad but realized we needed a little something else in the center.
So we cut circles from toil and placed them behind the gem.
Next we added more toil to just one side of the hair piece to jazz it up a little bit. We added new alligator hair clips to the back so they would stay in.
Tyler trying the teal one on, she loved that color!
The finished hair pieces for all the girls who are coming up this weekend!!
I added a glitter heart behind my gem just to add something different.
Mine is kind of funky with that glitter heart! But oh well, its all for FUN anyway! :)
Modeling for Tyler and trying to figure out how to wear it. It’s pretty obnoxious, but I’m fine with it!
Okay…. here is Lexie. YES I KNOW SHE LOOKS A WRECK AND NEEDS A BATHE!! Anyway, she ALWAYS lays on whatever I am working on. If it’s a craft project, she’s laying on fabric, bags, newspapers, tissue paper….. whatever will keep her off the cold floor! She would always lay on my school papers in college too. So funny! I love my little pooch!
