Just a few months ago my grandmothers 14 year old white lab “Jenny” passed away. She lived a long and happy life and it was just her time to go.
As I was going though some old digital photo files last week, I stumbled upon some pictures I had taken in college. My senior year, I was assigned an independent study photography project and I thought it would be fun to capture my family members, their dogs and the way they interacted together. It’s one of those things I’m thankful I photographed, one of those things that will keep the memory of my grandmothers dog alive forever.
So anyway, I decided to put together a little mini flip book of all the photos I had taken of them that day and give it to my grandmother. It’s something she can always keep to remember the good days she had with Jenny. Photos will forever have the ability to take us back to that special time. Another reason why I love photography so much. She teared up a little when I gave her the book. My job was done. I can’t tell you how many times looking at certain photos have made me get teary eyed. Isn’t it awesome how photos can capture certain things to bring out raw emotion? I think so.
I love you Ma-Maw!
Here’s just a few of the photos in her book…..
