I wanted to share some of my Engagement and Bridal Session photos with you guys. I have a bunch of stuff I want to put up actually, but it’s just finding the time to do personal posts. I still need to edit my getting ready shots that I took the morning of our Wedding and also our honeymoon pics. I’ll get to posting those soon hopefully. I’ve been busy with all the kids sessions lately and just playing catch up from my time off. I’m working on some new studio albums at the moment, too. Also, cooking dinner tonight for my dad and brother’s birthday- guess what it is? A huge pot of Red Gravy and Meatballs! I’ve officially broken this kitchen in and it smells like an Italian lives here! I sorta took the day off to cook and catch up on some “me” stuff, so that’s why there are two posts today.
So about my portraits, I became friends with Beebe and Corine Tran over the past couple of years from just running into each other at New Orleans Photography workshops. Well over time, I was able to form a friendship with Beebe and Corine so my decision was easy. We just had lunch last week with a big group of Wedding Industry people. It’s nice to network, to talk as friends and bounce ideas off each other. Looking forward to more get togethers and workshops that we are planning to attend soon. I am blessed to be a part of this special little bond us photographers have here in NOLA. I am thankful to be friends with Beebe and Corine because they along with several other photographers keep me on my toes. They make me want to be a better photographer and a better business person. At 25, I still have alot of learning and growing to do!
I am a very honest person and usually wear my heart on my sleeve which often comes out on my blog. Being in this line of work, I can be my own worst critic. I can tell you that I don’t always have the best of days and I can be really hard on myself. Yes, I am human and I wake up on the wrong side of the bed sometimes. I don’t always start each day thinking I am the coolest person ever, who does? That would be ridiculous! I make mistakes and I try to fix them the best way I know how. I ask God on a daily basis to help me with my family, my marriage, my business- everything! Having crappy days comes with the territory and this is something I am still working on. There are several photographers whose blogs I read and they often talk about the same things… being hard on yourself! I look at their work and think, OMG how could they even second guess themselves? Their work is amazing! I will continue to do workshops, grow as a photographer, learn from my fellow industry friends, and push myself each and everyday. This blog is not only a place for my pictures, its a place for you to really get to know me. I met with a bride last week who said she loved my photography, ya know what else she loved? My post about my kitchen renovation. That kind of made my day. You know, I don’t get alot of blog comments but at least I get feedback every now and then that lets me know someone likes me for more than just photography. Cause honestly, there’s a wholeee lot more to me than that!
Thanks again to Studio Tran for taking good care of me! From one photographer to the next, the other side has been a great experience for both Randy and I. I’m sure I’ll be one of those photographers that has our portraits done once a year, especially when I have kids- I think that’s so important. It’s time that you can’t replace, I consider it like treating yourself to the best present ever, ONCE a year!
