Mother’s Restaurant

Well today’s post may very well make your mouth water! I had the pleasure of photographing just about everything on the Mother’s menu last week. My two uncles own/run the Restaurant, so I’ve grown up eating this delicious food my entire life. My uncle asked me to take some photos for his website and I gladly accepted. I was looking forward to diving into a little food photography. We started off with breakfast foods and made our way down the menu. Together as my Uncle and I ate bites of the first round of food I had just photographed, we chatted. Neither one of us had eaten breakfast yet, and uhh…the shrimp creole omelet and waffle were just too hard to resist! We sat at the bar in Mother’s Next Door (the private party room side) and talked, we came up with ideas to best represent the character of Mother’s and the quality of ingredients Mother’s is so famous for. They don’t have a line down the street for nothin’! We went through dish after dish as the Mother’s staff brought in one thing after the next. It was a nice team effort by everyone and I couldn’t have been happier to capture two of my favorite things- food and photography!

So I leave you today with some of my favorite shots. I took a couple hundred photos….but these are by far my favorite things to eat at Mother’s. So next time your hungry and walking around the French Quarter or just looking for a place to grab breakfast and Bloody Mary before the Saint’s games this season….. stop in at Mother’s. You’ll be glad you did!
