Family Nights

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time with my cousins and their kids – Ryan, Ben and Baby Madeline. I am one of ten grandchildren on my moms side. So when we all get together it’s awesome, there’s nothing like being surrounded by the people you love. I am so looking forward to Christmas this year because we will all be under one roof. It’s funny how when you get older, you appreciate the Holidays. At least for me, its like I can give myself permission to take off work and not feel guilty about it. I mean come on it’s the Holidays!! (All the cousins & their significant others are all in the previous black and white photo that I posted a few days ago relating to the Portrait Session Giveaway)

Anyway, about 4 years ago…. great grandchildren were entered into the mix and since then its been a whole new feeling. They bring so much happiness and laughter to our time spent together. It reminds me of what Christmas felt like 20+ years ago at my Grandmothers when we stayed there til 1 in the morning on Christmas Eve, all ten of us cutting up and just being kids! Where has the time gone?

So Friday night I just wanted to stay in and do something low key because I was shooting my final wedding of the year last night and needed to get a good nights sleep. It was one of those nights where we all just ended up having no plans and hanging out. We ordered Chinese Food, lit the fireplace and decided to have some fun with my studio backdrop setup. Well let me just tell you – we were dying laughing. I caught this one photo of my little cousin Ben with a Halloween wig on that almost had me in tears it was so funny.

This is the perk of having a studio in your house, you never know what will happen!
