Engaged Encounter

Today I feel like a frog that is playing leap on lily pads. I’ve gone from one thing, to the next, to the next, to the next. I woke up this morning and went to the eye doctor to check out these good ole’ eyes of mine and to make sure my contact prescription is still kickin. Because who wants a photographer that can’t see clearly?? Anyway, that was first up on my list today, then editing, stuffing the final packages for the dancing school, a child portrait session, delivery of all dancing school packages, bootcamp and then a wedding meeting! I thoroughly enjoy being busy, but I think my favorite part is scratching things off my to-do list. I’ll purposely write things on my list, just to scratch them off :) I feel accomplished when everything is done!

So anyway, this is a totally random post and I have so many fun photos to share- but I just wanted to remember this past weekend. Let me fill you in. Randy and I are getting married in one month. So last weekend we went to Engaged Encounter. (Mandatory by the Catholic Church) It’s a one day class where you go and listen to someone talk about all the things you already know :) The morning started off great because we had something bad to eat for breakfast. It never fails- whenever we are going on some type of “mini road trip” …. McDonald’s breakfast it is! Why you ask? Because its bad for you and the guilt of eating it some how disappears when your roadtrippin’!? We went to LaPlace.. it really wasn’t that far, but let’s pretend like it was.

After our ridiculous breakfast, we got lost and went the wrong way a few times and I’m convinced Randy did it on purpose because he WANTED to be late! So we get there, just in time as “Deacon Dave” starts talking. He talks, we reflect and write, he talks, we reflect and write- you get the idea. About midway through, Randy kept telling me- I’m sooooo ready to go!! (He was ready to get back home and play golf!)  All I could do was roll my eyes! Anyway, I took my camera because honestly it kills boredom :) I brought it so we could document a little bit of our day. When we couldn’t take it anymore, we just whipped out my camera and started taking pictures and goofing off. I’m convinced people thought we were weird- but I’m fine with it.

Overall, it wasn’t my favorite place to be, but as long as I’m with him it didn’t matter where we were. It was a memory for us! We talked about some key things but being together for 8+ years there’s a whole lot we already know about each other. And a wholllllle lot we’re going to learn :)

Seriously, how good is the Bacon, Egg & Cheese McGriddle?

Randy, we need to do the WORKBOOK!!! Get up!!!!

There’s me in his sunglasses :)

Yes, we wore nametags. Cool. Cooler. Coolest.
