Engagement sessions are one of my most favorite things to photograph; I love seeing the connections that two people have and using my camera to capture it all. I’ve known Dan for a really long time, I remember meeting him back in High School. I was so excited to hear that he and Lauren wanted me to photograph their wedding. They both came over to the house one night and we flipped through albums and typed up their contract. A bit later, Dan was itching to go “jam” with Randy in the studio outside. See Randy and Dan both love music, so I see Dan quite a bit when he comes over here just to hang out and play music with Randy.
Lauren and Dan wanted to go somewhere funky for their Engagement session, somewhere that was really going to show off their personalities, so we headed to Oak Street. I felt like this was a diamond in the rough. Why hadn’t I shot there before? Thank you Randy for the suggestion!!! Quiet little street with the most unique backgrounds- looovedd it! Dan brought along his guitar and played a little. At one point, he broke out playing Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven. (one of my favorite songs, I was having trouble shooting because I just wanted to sit back and enjoy the music… haha) Love the way Lauren is looking at him in those shots!
I had a blast photographing these two, they are such a great couple and I think I was really able to capture who they are. Fun loving, sweet and up for anything! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in April!
I hope you enjoy some of my favorites….
