I’m always looking for a good read. I went to Walmart with my mom the other night and decided to buy this book. I picked it up and just started reading a few pages, it has short bible versus in it and then a paragraph that explains the verse. It has all types of stories that deal with everyday things like: emotions, fears, love, encouragement, contentment, faith, worship, hope, prayer, etc.. When I just need a break from work at my desk, I’ll skim through it. I use it for guidance with meditation, prayer, relaxation and peace of mind. These kinds of reads are always good to keep around when you just need a little pick me up. I can remember growing up, my mom always bought us little books like this. She would write a message in the inside and we would keep it in our nightstands. Sometimes she would send me little books like this when I lived in Baton Rouge just to tell me she was thinking about me. I guess that’s why I like to read them so much.
So today I thought I’d share a little passage with you. They give an introduction, the bible verse, then an explanation.
Focus on God, Not Circumstances
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. ISAIAH 26:3
Lord, so many times it seems as if a thief is trying to steal my peace. My circumstances can be overwhelming- and they shake me up. I don’t want to be robbed of happiness and emotional stability. I ask that You would keep me in perfect peace as I choose to put my eyes on You rather than on my problems. Let my mind be steady, not racing. Let my heart trust that You will see me though.
Here’s a picture of the book is anyone thinks they may like it.
