Ouch!

One word:  Sore!  Tonight was my second night of fitness boot camp. I got home, showered and chilled out to watch an hour of TV. When I decided to get up to get something to drink, I looked like a 90 year old women, hobbling down the steps. Haha! I kinda like it, it ensures me that I got a good workout! Meeting up with a group of people and having a personal trainer coach us has motivated me. I’m not sure about all of you, but I get pretty bored at the gym. Unless I have someone to go with, I’m usually looking at the clock the whole time. This in turn makes me not want to go! I needed a change.

I heard about this boot camp that one of our family friends was putting on for locals in my neighborhood.  After reading a little bit about it, I figured I would give it a try. We haven’t done anything that I couldn’t do, it’s mainly just doing certain exercises that I would never think to do. (And trust me, if I attempted this at the gym – people would be wondering ‘What the heck is that girl doing??‘)

Looking forward to another way that I can challenge myself, to push myself and lastly to give myself a little ME time! It’s good to take time for yourself, its puts the mind at ease. Sometimes its hard to find the STOP button because Jen Amato Photography doesn’t come with a time clock or a closed sign. There is always something I could be doing. I struggle with this, which is why I was up til 3am the other morning working on albums. I think I’ll get more out of boot camp than I realize. One of the main things I’ve learned from attending photography workshops is to remember to take time for yourself. It allows you to refresh which in turn keeps your mind rolling with new ideas.

These are things that help me to slow down when I realize I need a break: turning my thoughts into actions, keeping a journal, praying, getting a pedicure, taking my dog for a walk, going on a bike ride, sending someone a card in the mail letting them know how much I care, buying flowers for myself, reading, making hot tea. Try one of these is your feeling stressed, they definitely will help to clear your head.

Tomorrow I will be posting a sneak peek from Monday’s session with Stella, she was a past client who I absolutely adore! Stelllllaa~!!!!
