Soooo, its that time of year again where we run around like crazy trying to get everyone Christmas presents! I still have alot more shopping to do, but I swear every year I think about just stopping it all, asking everyone who I typically buy gifts for what their favorite charity is and donating to that cause. Isn’t that what Christmas is about anyway? Celebrating Jesus’ birth, giving thanks for all the blessings given to us throughout the year, spending time with our loved ones, and giving back to those in need?
One of my best memories of Christmas was right when I started my photography business. I kept thinking about how I could give back to someone but wasn’t sure where to start. Well it was one Sunday in December when church had put up the tree with all the little paper ornaments with names. The kids who needed gifts were hospital kids who were sick. Well what else do I see besides a tag that read “GIRL – AGE 12 -Â DIGITAL CAMERA”. So there is was in black and white- what I could do to help. I picked it up and searched for just the right camera for her, it was baby pink! Thinking back, I wish I would have taken the time to write her a note. I would have told her why I specifically picked her and that photography has changed my life in so many ways and that I hope it does the same for her. It felt good to give.
So, I want to do something this year and I am hoping that you can help me. I would like to give away a free 1 hour long session & photo CD to a deserving couple/senior/family/child/expectant mom. You can nominate yourself or someone else.
