Vacation?

It’s funny how one conversation can change your perspective on life at the moment. My brother lives in California now, currently in San Louis Obispo. (Beautiful place, dreaming about going back to visit) He called yesterday, which always ends up in a 45 min-hour long phone call, where we play catch up. I blabbed about how disgusted I was with the rain lately and since my shoots keep getting rescheduled, I’ve just been catching up on random things I’ve been putting off. To be quite honest, I get antsy and uncomfortable when I don’t have enough going on. I need to be busy, it keeps me sane. So anyway, in my rant about the rainy weather, he said he overheard some “Cali kids” saying how they didn’t know how to drive in the rain, it was like something they had never seen it before. Their cars were hydroplaning and they didn’t know what to do! I seriously couldn’t help but laugh… REALLY, wow! He said it was the first time it’s rained there in months!! Here in Nola, we just learn to adapt to this weather! Ohhh the difference between here and there! How I yearn for some sunshine. It looks like Friday its coming our way! :)

He told me I sounded like I was due for a vacation. Really, that bad huh? It got me thinking about how I am just dying to hop in my car and photograph the unfamiliar. As long as I have my camera, gas in my car and my wallet…I’m good to go.  I want to go somewhere new, maybe for just a day, maybe for 3 days, who knows? My Aunt gave some great ideas today of some places that are only about 4-5 hours away. I’m really thinking about doing it. Why not?

Tonight I had a wonderful dinner with my mom and her best friend Beth, we went to Cafe Giovanni’s in the French Quarter. The food was insane, soo delicious! I felt like I was a judge on the “Chopped” or “Iron Chef America” on the Food Network. Since I watch that channel religiously! 5 Course meals and wine pairings are incredible! You all must try Cafe Giovanni!

Tomorrow I will be blogging Caroline Naccari’s portraits, I gave you a sneak peek a week or so ago and I look forward to sharing her gorgeous little smile!
