  • Jazmin :: Portraits

    I really enjoyed photographing Jazmin last week! She wanted some portraits taken for her Sweet 15! This reminded me of how much I love taking Senior or Headshot type photos. I know you guys are used to seeing alot of Weddings, Engagements, Bridals, Kids and Families on the blog- but be sure to tell anyone you know who may be needing Senior photos this year to come my way! We had alot of fun taking these, Jazmin was a natural in front of the camera, she is beautiful!

    Looking forward to getting lots of editing done, this past week was great- 5 sessions and 2 weddings! I have LOTS of fun stuff to process this week, so be on the lookout! Tomorrow I’m getting together with our friends to watch Dana and Tim’s Wedding video from the Bahamas. She texted me yesterday saying she just got it back and was dying laughing. Seriously, that was one of the best trips I’ve been on, so fun. I know you guys remember my post about her wedding. So tomorrow we plan on getting together to cook dinner and watch it.

    Yea, so my wedding… Sad that I still haven’t put any photos on here. I am terrible, I need to do that. My wedding video should be coming right up, so as soon as it’s done- I promise to post my wedding pics and video all at once so ya’ll can see me on the other side of the camera, oh joy! haha

  • Bathroom Renovation!

    So as most of you know who have been following my blog for a while, Randy and I live in a cute older little house in the neighborhood where we grew up. Both my parents and my in-laws live less than 2 minutes away :) We’ve taken this house room by room and did what we could afford at the time. First it was the den, hallway and our bedroom. (Took paneling down, ripped up the carpet, refinished the wood floors, put crown molding up, new doors, new knobs, new blinds, fresh texture, fresh paint, all new closet doors, new front door) You get the picture… our house has had a major face lift. We then moved on to the kitchen, which some of you may remember. This was our biggest expense and totally worth every penny. I have really enjoyed cooking dinner with Randy in our kitchen and sipping wine together after a long and stressful day. It’s the place where we get a chance to actually talk about our day, talk about life and future goals/plans.

    Next we re-did the laundry room and my office, which was right around the time we did the kitchen. Well almost a year later since the kitchen renovation and 6 months of being married, we decided it was time for the bathroom to get freshened up. So here it is… all our stages are below. It’s been so relaxing to take a shower in there now, knowing we have a fresh new tub, floor and cabinets. Our house is finally starting to feel like home where we have put so much of our time and love into it.

    Special thanks to my brother Jimmy for getting this project rolling for us. He is a great contractor and knew just what to do next. With his dedication to get it done and our style thrown in there, I think it came out great. We love our painter Matt who is in Randy’s band. He is the only person I would ever recommend to paint. He’s painted something for just about everyone in my family. His business is Perfectionist Painting… and he is just that… a perfectionist!

    To be completely honest, it takes a lot of patience to renovate a house. It’s not the easiest circumstance, especially when last month I shot over 20 sessions. It was tough to juggle it all. There are bound to be arguments and tiffs along the way about this paint color or that tile, etc..  In the end, it’s all worth it though. It only brings you and your better half closer, makes you communicate more and learn how to problem solve. After being with Randy for almost 10 years, I can honestly say the main ingredient is communication.

    So here’s our process from start to finish. We are just about done with our house. We have one more bedroom to renovate, the garage outside would look great with new siding and I would LOVE to paint the bricks. One day at a time…….. one day at a time :)

    Happy Thursday Ya’ll! Be on the lookout for 5 photo posts next Mon-Fri from my shoots this week.

    Oh, my favorite part of the new bathroom, is my makeup organization now!

  • Josie :: Newborn

    So excited to share this last session I photographed of 2010 with you guys! Wow, it’s been an amazing year- thank you all so much! I photographed Nicole and Kyle’s Maternity just a month ago and now little Josie has entered this big ole’ world! I can’t wait to capture her first year of life, what a gift! We got lucky last week, we had a bit of a warm day so we were able to head outside and shoot these. I am obsessed with Josie’s name, it fits her perfectly! Her hats were precious and she gave me a couple of smiles which is always fun!

    I’ll be putting together my best of 2010 post over the next couple of days. Today I am thankful to be home watching it pour rain outside, beginning to edit the 4 sessions I had Monday and Tuesday, in my PJ pants, listening to Pandora, frosted cupcake candle burning, laundry washing, roast in the crockpot for dinner, dogs napping. Life is good :) Trying to remind myself on a daily basis to live in the present moment. I don’t do that enough. I get too caught up with everything spinning around me. Anyone know the feeling? It’s a new year- trying to turn over a new leaf.

    Happy Wednesday. The rain is soothing…

  • Audrey :: Newborn

    I photographed Audrey last week and she was cute as a button! She was just two weeks old when we did this session. As I was flipping though her photos again before I picked my favorites, I couldn’t help but think that she looks like a little angel when she sleeps. So delicate and peaceful. I love when they nap for a few minutes and I’m able to pose them. I always think it’s funny how they fall right asleep with some light rocking and a nunu. Oh, and the little smile she gave me while sleeping was priceless! Anywho, I’m about to run off to my 4th shoot this week and it’s only Tuesday! I hope the weather holds out for me.

    Here are some that I loved!

  • The Donegan’s :: Family

    I photographed this sweet family last week in City Park! All the grandchildren were in town for the Christmas Holidays. They really wanted to get a big group shot of the kids with their grandparents as well as take some updated group sibling photos. I love these kind of sessions. Everyone is always so cooperative and up for anything! It was a beautiful day at the park!!

    I took a ton of photos, but here are some of my favorites from the day:
