On July 12, 2013 we welcomed our beautiful BABY GIRL into the world!!! We didn’t know what we were having, so when little Miss Gracie came out, I was over the moon!! There will be lots of cute outfits, bows and hairpieces in our future :)

Maternity Leave!
Well I am officially on Maternity leave! I am completely wrapped up with all shoots and editing until early September! I’m sorry I haven’t posted many personal entries lately, I can honestly say that my head has been so focused on preparing for baby, wrapping up work with my clients and building a house. I look forward to sharing more with you guys soon once the baby is here :) I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, so honestly it could be any day now. I am pretty sure baby is quite comfy in there, I’ll probably go until my due date or maybe a little over?
I wanted to share my Maternity photos with you all. My good friends Tim Pham and Corine Tran took these of us when I was 32 weeks. I will cherish these forever. I am so so grateful to have this special time documented. I rented some furniture to add a little something extra!
I am enjoying my Maternity leave – just relaxing, getting ready for baby and taking it one day at a time. I will return back to work in September and I will be shooting Tuesday/Thursday sessions at 10am and 4pm. I am booking up quickly, so please shoot me an email if you know you are interested in a session :) Of course, I will still be keeping up with my email while on Maternity leave.

Crystal contacted me about photographing her 4 year Anniversary session at Tchoupitoulas Plantation – the venue where she and her hubby were married! I love the scenery here, it was so cute! The Herbert’s :: Family
I photographed The Herbert Family at City Park on a pretty Saturday morning! This was a large session with the aunt/uncle, grandparents, their 2 children/ spouses and then the 5 grand daughters! The girls were just adorable! I can see these 5 are going to be veryyy close when they get older! I’m sure they are going to have so much fun growing up! I think we were able to get some really sweet shots, there’s one in there that has a few of the girls having a melt down. I love those photos every now and then. Annie :: 9 Months
I can’t believe this little cutie is already 9 months! I’ve had so much fun photographing her so far… we will be preparing for her 1 year session soon! Mommy had to work, so Daddy took her to the shoot – love the playful, fun candid shots with Annie and Scott towards the end. What a treat to get Dad in some pics! This family is so kind… Scott left the session thanking me for all the photos I’ve taken of their family over the past couple of years. It’s so much fun being able to become friends with my clients! Thomas & Mary drove in from Lafeyette, LA to have me photograph their 3 Year Anniversary photos! They were very nice and I enjoyed photographing their session! We chatted and walked through City Park finding places to photograph in front of. They made a little mini vacation out of it… had their photos taken, went to dinner and stayed the night downtown. Sounds like a treat to me! I am dreaming of a little mini getaway with my hubby too!

I’ve been friends with Melanie for almost 4 years now! We met back when I was planning my Wedding, I used her Video services and I LOVE my wedding video! Since then, we’ve remained friends and often lunch and prop shop. She also has a photography business in Covington. Here’s a little something new for you! I had the honor of photographing an all natural Waterbirth during Christmas week. My friend Dayna Dyle texted me that morning and asked if I was interested in helping document the birth of her friend’s baby at Touro. Dayna knew that Waterbirth is something that I’ve always been amazed by since finding out I was pregnant. Well even before I was pregnant, I always chatted with my friends about how this is something I am interested in. I understand the amount of dedication and strength it requires to have a natural birth, but it fascinates me. Lately I’ve been reading Hypnobirthing books and watching birth documentaries such as “Business of Being Born” & “Pregnant in America.” I highly recommend watching these if you are prego!
It was a wonderful day, I was at the hospital from about 11:30am til 8:30pm. The room was filled with meditation music and the occasional moans of Amy laboring. What a strong woman!! I could go on and on about how incredible it was to witness this birth, but I hope that my photos will show you a little glimpse at the day. Welcome to the world, Louis! You are just too precious!

We’re having a Baby!
Well I guess it’s finally time I told the blog world our wonderful news. My husband Randy and I are having our first little one this coming July. I am 13 weeks pregnant :) If you follow my facebook page, I made an announcement on there around Christmas time… but I figured I would post something here, too. I haven’t blogged here in a couple of weeks because I gave myself some time off over the Holidays to enjoy being with family and friends. I plan to do this every year. Next December I am going to try and do a mini session so I can fit in more clients.
So here are some prego announcement photos that our great friends Beebe & Corine Tran took of us a few weeks back. We are so thankful for these :) We used some on our Christmas card this year! Well I just wanted to share our news and let you know that I’ll resume soon with client images and postings ASAP. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Jump Drives!
I’m excited about my new jump drives that just came in! From now on, Jen Amato Photography will be using these cute little custom jump drives to save your photos on! All clients will now receive their high resolution images back on these. Moving towards the future and getting rid of CD’s. Hope you love them as much as I do!!
