Ehh, not always. I make print orders every single week for my clients. It’s sad how all my personal photos get put on the back burner! I made a print order this week for myself… FINALLY! I had nearly 9 months worth of my own photos just waiting to be printed that were in about 10 different folders on my computer. A couple of years ago I bought twenty leather photo albums from Wal-mart, they hold 300 photos in each. They all match because I’m obsessive like that and they live on a bookshelf in my room. I think I’m just about to fill up number 13. Geezeum, thats nearly 4, 000 photos so far! I blame this photo situation on having a bad memory, I will always be able to open any particular album and it will take me back to that time in my life.

At age 16, I started keeping track of my own photos, you know…that were mine. Not the ones that my mom has taken of me my whole life…. those are hers :) My first photo album begins with pictures from a High School party my friend Dana had. It’s the night when I realized I had the BIGGEST crush on Randy. Too funny…..that was just about 8 years ago!! I’m still stuffing the photo albums with photos of us from today and I’m still thankful he’s been my main man for almost a decade now. Seriously… crazy how time flies!

I have always been the friend that takes photos. Religiously keeping a camera in my purse….. every high school dance, every birthday, just about every time I go out with my girlfriends, vacations, holidays, you name it!! I’m sure it didn’t surprise anyone when I decided to become a photographer. I have all the photos of my life kept safe in my books, its amazing to start from the beginning and look at what time changes; what time ages.

My mom bought me a Canon Rebel film camera when I was 15 years old. I can remember it like it was yesterday, it took the most amazing pictures back then! Now digital has blown film out the water, yet you will never beat the feeling of shooting with film, its such an awesome process! I miss it dearly. I spent hours on end in the LSU photography lab and made some really great friends there. Some days I was at school from 9am-11pm, brutal yet unforgettable. My roommates can vouch for my crazy art student hours! I miss the darkroom, I miss the paper, I miss the smell of the developer. That’s one of my top 10- take me back to that moment in time things. (That’s a whole different post!)

I thought I would give you a sneak peek of how I store my photos in case anyone is wondering what to do with your 20 different mismatched albums, the photos floating around on your computer, or the ones still in the paper envelope from when you picked them up from the drug store! Get organized!! I’ll continue this post tomorrow with some photos of my madness! :)

You would think because I’m a photographer that I would be on top of printing my own personal photos right?
