Besides taking pictures… I have always loved to draw, doodle, paint, make jewelry, play with fabric, etc! Over the past few months, it was finding the time that kept me from doing these little projects. I can tell you this…Â now that the wedding is over, I plan on doing lots of artsy things. I feel like I have alot more free time to do things for me, it’s a nice feeling. Doing crafts like this is always a good stress reliever!

Okay, I stumbled upon a fabric idea similar somewhere on the internet. However, the cool thing is- no ones will look the same! I went to the fabric store and bought yards of fabric that stood out to me. It didn’t need to match, it didn’t need to look perfect. The end result is supposed to be a composition of fabrics that either mean something to you or just catch your eye. I have always loved Damask fabric, so I went for that first. Then I incorporated some pin tuck cloth that would give the canvas a little texture. I then found more playful colors and styles that I liked. I purchased some trim rope and cream organza to again just add some different elements. One of the fabrics is the same material I used on the kitchen chairs because I had some left over. The other black and white damask was actually one of my table runners from my engagement party. They were beautiful and my aunt had made them for me. However, I had 5 of them, so I decided to just use one for my wall. Now when I look at it, it’ll have a little more meaning to it.

This project was mainly because we have a huge wall in the den that just needed something! It was naked and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. The end result makes me want to create lots more! Most of us have photographs and paintings hanging on the wall… I thought it would be fun to use another medium for some wall art. So here is my process step by step….

All my fabric ready to go!

The huge canvas I bought from Michael’s to work with.
