I met Megan & Ben at Bridget & Ryan’s Wedding that I shot last year. They were one of the cute couple’s that I photographed at the reception. Not long after, Megan emailed me to let me know she was engaged and that she wanted to me to be her Wedding photographer! Since Megan lives in Baton Rouge, we booked via email. She basically said she’d just take a look at Bridget’s albums and then email me with her package and album choice. I always love when I get to photograph friends of bride’s that I’ve previously worked with. It’s so much fun!

Megan and Ben suggested The Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge for their Engagement Session – I was all for it! I love taking little trips to photograph at new places. We found so many awesome spots while we were shooting there, it was like we kept stumbling from one great location to the next. It drizzled off and on throughout the shoot, but thankfully you can’t tell at all! Well…. until the last few frames. That’s when the rain came pouring down. And to tell you the truth, this might be my favorite way to close an Engagement Session. The rain just adds some kind of romance and excitement to the photos. It’s one of those things that’s like… “let me see how long I can shoot until I am completely drenched!” The end photos of them under the umbrella are taken at Ben’s house. I was under one umbrella shooting and they were under another. That’s when I wish I had someone documenting me shooting because it’s funny to think back on the things I do just to get shots. My flats were soaked and filled with little pebbles once the session was over. Totally worth it! I hope that my images reflect that.

I posted a teaser photo of Ben and Megan last week just to hold them over until I could get finished editing their session. Megan told me numerous times how much she loved that one shot and couldn’t wait to see more. I love when my clients get involved in their photos, when they tell me what they like, when they tell me where they want to go, when they have ideas, when they see the beauty in each one of their photos. Those are the couples I am truly honored to photograph for. Those are the people that make me love what I do!

Here are some of my favorites from their session:
