I’ve known Kelly for years, we met back at LSU through some mutual friends. I never knew that when Kelly asked me to be her Wedding Photographer that it was going to blossom into such a special friendship. We were both engaged and both going through the Wedding Planning experience together. There were many nights were Kelly would call to schedule one of her portrait sessions or just to ask me something and it would turn into an hour long phone conversation. We even met for coffee one day at PJ’s with our big wedding planning books. We made list after list and made sure we were getting things done! It’s almost kind of bittersweet that Kelly’s Wedding has passed and all that planning is behind her. No more phone calls to ask each other wedding questions or ask how the nerves are today? Often times we would message each other online just to check in, see how things were going and pass helpful wedding links back and forth.

I remember photographing Kelly and Pete’s Engagement Session like it was yesterday. We started off in Audubon Park, walked down St. Charles Ave, hoped on the streetcar, and found some old New Orleans homes to photograph in front of. It was such a fun session and I was happy to capture that special time in their lives.

I just photographed Kelly’s Bridals about a month or two before the Wedding. We took them at the Audubon Zoo and I’m sure you remember me posting them just last week. She looked radiant that day- just as she did on her Wedding Day.

So on to the Wedding festivities. The day begin at the Hampton Suites on Convention Center Blvd where all the girls and guys got ready for the big day. The ceremony was at St. John the Baptist and the Reception was at Chateau Country Club. I am not sure how else to say it- but this was one of the craziest, most energetic weddings I’ve ever photographed. The guests did not stop dancing the entire time. Everyone was into it – – the band, the parents, the wedding party, the bride and groom, their guests, even the people working the wedding!!! (myself included- I found myself dancing while I was photographing) As I was editing, I cracked up laughing numerous times at all the silly faces being made and the random dance moves! It was awesome working with Melanie and Wendy from Blink Video and well as the band Groovy 7.

So Kelly and Pete- I hope you guys are enjoying your honeymoon in Europe. Kel, I will miss our Wedding planning chats (even though I know I can call you if I need anything). Look forward to seeing you guys soon at our Wedding when we’ll do it all over again :)

Enjoy the photos- here’s a ton that will hopefully help you see how beautiful, fun, emotional and memorable their wedding was!

Happy Monday!
